68 % of the members of Translation Industry Professionals have completed a higher academic degree. 28% of the members have completed a lower academic degree. This includes e.g. qualified translators. 4% of the members have degrees of other levels (e.g. degrees completed abroad) (February 2008).

Most common tasks

33% of Translation Industry Professionals members work as translators or interpreters or in both tasks. The most typical task titles are

In addition, many members work in different tasks in documentation and localisation with varying titles. Some of our members also work in different tasks in the fields of communication and export.

72% of Translation Industry Professionals members work in the private sector. Companies offering translation services and language training employ our members, but large employers are also the companies needing and offering localisation services and technical documentation and writing.

The public administration, i.e. the state and the municipalities, employ approximately 25% of our members.
