Negotiation organisations in Akava

Akava as a central organisation does not negotiate collective labour agreements and collective bargaining agreements of civil servants’ salaries, which establish the payments and other terms of employment. For this Akava has two negotiation organisations: Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO) and Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN).

JUKO represents the academically trained working in the public sector.

YTN is a negotiation organisation for the private sector. In the Akava member field, it is responsible for negotiation and agreement actions for professional and managerial employees in the industry, commerce, and service fields. YTN works in the field: YTN employees’ representative networks form background groups representing different fields and these produce the YTN board with information needed to make decisions.

YTN represents the translation industry

One of the YTN ry background groups represents the translation industry. The experts working in the translation industry are mainly organised under Akava Special Branches, which is a member organisation in YTN. The objective of YTN and Akava Special Branches is to promote the collective labour agreement actions in the translation industry as well as to strengthen the labour market position of those working in the field.
