Negotiation organisations in Akava
Akava as a central organisation does not negotiate collective labour agreements and collective bargaining agreements of civil servants’ salaries, which establish the payments and other terms of employment. For this Akava has two negotiation organisations: Negotiation Organisation for Public Sector Professionals (JUKO) and Federation of Professional and Managerial Staff (YTN).JUKO represents the academically trained working in the public sector.
YTN is a negotiation organisation for the private sector. In the Akava member field, it is responsible for negotiation and agreement actions for professional and managerial employees in the industry, commerce, and service fields. YTN works in the field: YTN employees’ representative networks form background groups representing different fields and these produce the YTN board with information needed to make decisions.
